You may never want to leave Sheepwalk House & Cottages for the duration of your stay - and we totally get that. However, there are plenty of brilliant things to do just a stone’s throw away if activity is the name of the game.

Things To Do & See During Your Stay

We are just 15 minutes drive from Brittas Beach, a stunning 5k stretch of powdery sand and dunes.

We are close to many excellent hill walks and coastal strolls, too. Brittas Bay Surf School which offers surf lessons, kids surf camps, group surf lessons and watersports for teenagers.

We’re a 30 minute drive from Glendalough Valley, located in the Wicklow Mountains National Park. There are many attractions to entice visitors, from its world famous Monastic Site with Round Tower to its scenic lakes and valleys, as well as a selection of walks and trails in the area including The Wicklow Way

Explore the beautiful grounds of Avondale House, home of the brilliant Beyond The Trees - treetop walk

We’re only minutes drive from Avoca Mill,

the birthplace of the Avoca experience. Dating from 1723, this is home to the hand-weaving mill, Avoca Store, Cafe and a visitor centre.

Enjoy a tour of Mickey Finn’s excellent microbrewery in nearby Redcross and sample some of the finest locally brewed ales.

There are lots of great pubs locally in Arklow serving up creamy pints of Guinness, too

Golf on one of Ireland’s top ranked parkland courses at Woodenbridge, try out Arklow Golf Links or visit The European Club, which is ranked in the world’s top 100 golf courses.

Get off the beaten track and trek with alpacas with the K2Alpacas team. Choose from some of Ireland’s best hiking trails and stretch the legs.

Arklow has everything you might need while you’re here, too - from grocery shops, pubs, chemists, cafes to a cinema.  We are located between Arklow and Avoca, which is just a 7 minute drive from us and is home to the original Avoca Handweavers. We are also just 20 minutes drive from Gorey, which also features great cafes and a lovely bookshop.
