Why Stay At Sheepwalk?

🌿 Historic & Full of Character

Built in 1727, our cottages are rustic, cosy and quirky — perfect for guests who love charm over polish.

🛋️ Comfortable & Well Equipped

Everything you need for a relaxing stay: warm beds, kitchens, Wi-Fi, outdoor space and room for family or friends.

🌄 Peaceful Countryside Setting

Wake to birdsong, open views and fresh air — ideal for slowing down and switching off.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Perfect for Groups & Families

Multiple cottages on one site make Sheepwalk House ideal for reunions, celebrations or multi-generation holidays.

Can I Book For An Event?

Yes! It is possible to rent the main house and the cottages, giving you private use of the lawns and courtyard. The grounds are perfect for all manner of small and intimate events like small weddings, family reunions, a friends get together, book clubs, yoga weekends, writing workshops, murder mystery parties, song writing retreats and lots more. Please note that we are not a big party place, so we don’t allow loud sound systems etc

Kids

Kids are most welcome! The Main House has a lawn to the front, the cottages have a shared lawn for games. There are some great activities nearby for kids to do, plus we are close to forests, beaches and mountains for outdoor adventures.

Sustainability

We are committed to being as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible. While we’re working to introduce as many initiatives as we can, it’s an ongoing project and there are lots of ideas we’ll be looking to bring to Sheepwalk House as we grow.  We encourage recycling, composting and discourage single use plastics. We’re always up for learning about new ways to be kinder to the environment so please do get in touch with ideas.

WiFi

There is WiFi available, however due to our rural location it isn’t high-speed, so it’s best suited for browsing and emails rather than heavy streaming or large downloads

Pets

While we love animals, the nature of the house, furnishings, and surrounding farmland means we’re unfortunately not set up to accommodate pets. We also have nearby fields with farm animals, so we find it’s safest and most comfortable for everyone if pets stay at home.

Wood Stoves

We’ll have everything you need to set your first night’s fire. After that, we ask that you BYO. Please note that the stoves take briquettes and wood only. Please don’t burn anything else in the stoves

What’s in the Kitchen?

The main house and the cottage kitchens all come with the usuals - kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge and a full set of cutlery, plates, pots and pans. Cooking essentials like salt, pepper and oil are included.

We’re coffee fiends, so each cottage comes with a small amount of ground coffee and a French press for your caffeine fix. Tea fans, we’ve also got tea bags in for the perfect cuppa.

Shopping

If you need a big shop, we are just 10 minutes drive from a huge Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and Dunnes Stores, all of which are sure to have what you need to whip up a delicious meal. Tesco Arklow deliver, please make sure that your delivery slot is after your arrival as we cannot guarantee that we will be onsite to accept your order.

BBQ

Each cottage has its own charcoal BBQ (BYO charcoal :), and The Main House has a gas BBQ, gas provided.
